How To Get Involved

Everyone - young and old - can help support the spread of the Gospel to the world.

The most obvious need that people think of concerning missionaries is monthly support.  It is true that mission work does take money.  If you would like to help Bethel support a missionary financially, click here.

What Else Can I Do to Support a Missionary?

• Pray for missionaries during individual and family prayer time.  Individual prayer requests are updated in the Mission News/Events section of this website.
• "Adopt" a specific missionary family to pray sincerely and fervently for.
• Regularly write, email or phone your missionary and offer encouragement.
• Send birthday, anniversary and holiday cards to the whole missionary family.  Involve your children, too.
• If appropriate, send care packages.
• Attend all services where missionaries are speaking and/or presenting their ministry.
• Show hospitality to visiting missionaries on deputation or furlough.
• Give generously to missionary projects and love offerings to visiting missionaries.

What Can My Church Do to Support a Missionary?

• Have a well written missions policy.
• Have a men’s and women’s group with a focus on missions.
• Have visiting missionaries speak
• Give generously to visiting missionaries.
• Organize a missions trip for interested church members.
• Have a section of the Sunday bulletin devoted to missions.
• Pray for your missionaries.
• Communicate regularly with missionaries that your church supports.
• Have a church missions bulletin board where prayer letter, etc. are posted.
• Have an annual missions conference or missions emphasis month.
• Provide part of a missionaries support with offerings to the sending church
• Support and send a missionary from your church

Besides our own missionaries, Bethel co-sponsors several Filipino missionaries.  Most are in partnership with Abiko Baptist Church in Japan.
