What to Expect
It can be very intimidating to visit a new church for the first time. To reduce any anxiety, here are some things to expect when you come to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Dress Code:
You will notice that folks dress comfortably at Bethel. There will be everything from jeans and sneakers to "dressy casual".
Before service:
Upon entering our auditorium you will likely be greeted by many members of Bethel.
If arriving for Sunday School any church member will be happy to guide you and your family to an appropriate class. A list of classes and locations can be found here.
If arriving for Worship services feel free to come in and choose a spot to sit. Children begin services in the auditorium. After the song service, first graders and below can attend Children’s Chapel. If your child isn’t comfortable going to Children’s Chapel they are more than welcome to sit with you in services. Service:
As you enter our auditorium be sure and pick up a bulletin from the table in the foyer area. This will provide you with a list of the mornings hymns and other interesting bits of information.
Many of our members will come and greet you. We genuinely want you to feel welcome and comfortable in our services.
Our services will begin with a welcome. You will be offered a guest card to fill out so we can keep in touch with you and provide any information you requested. You may drop this card into our offering plate when it is passed at the end of services.
Our music service is traditional hymns with Special music provided by various members which ranges from traditional to contemporary. The message will be delivered by our Pastor most Sundays with occasional messages from our Youth Pastor or Missions Pastor. Messages usually are from 30 to 45 minutes.
After the message we will take an offering. We want you to feel welcome as our guest with no pressure to give. You may drop your guest card in the offering plate as it is passed.
Following the offering will be announcements and a time for prayer requests.
After Services:
Once services are complete we hope you will stay around for a while and meet some new people. Many of our members will want to get to know you a little better. Church is about God and worship but it is also about community and fellowship. We truly desire for you to experience warmth and friendliness at Bethel.
